NT4837 : Buckholm Tower

Buckholm Tower
Buckholm Tower
A three and a half storey tower (1582) with vaulted ground floor and attached barmkin, now in a ruinous state. The Pringles had a house here in the middle of the 16th century and the tower is said to be haunted by a former laird of Buckholm from the 18th century. This shows the surviving part of the south wall of the barmkin, with a semicircular-arched gateway.
