River Monnow at Skenfrith
River Monnow at Skenfrith
Looking upstream from the castle wharf. The Monnow flows down through Grosmont and Skenfrith and is one of the larger tributaries of the Wye. It rises in the upland areas of the Black Mountains but for much of its length, it flows through a gentle, fertile valley.
