Apesthorpe cemetery
Apesthorpe cemetery
Long-disused and overgrown cemetery near Habblesthorpe. The lost parish of Apesthorpe (or Applesthorpe) once had its own church dedicated to St.Peter, described as ruinous for over a century in 1848, with just 109 parishioners. The burial ground was inclosed in 1833 and remained in use until the early 20th century. [Thanks to David Hinde for this information]
