Royal and Sedgwick Mills
Royal and Sedgwick Mills
McConnel and Kennedy's site. Royal Mill (left) dates from 1912 and replaced Old Mill of 1798. It abutts the eight storey Sedgwick Mill of 1818-1820. The door in to Sedgwick (next to the guy on his mobile) leads in to the former beam engine house (Boulton and Watt). The flash of green visible through that door is a replica flywheel in the original recess in the wall that accommodated the engine's flywheel (a thoughtful touch).
