Brickyards Alum Quarry
Brickyards Alum Quarry
Alum shale was quarried here. A spoil heap and the remains of a railway siding are easy to see. The line of the disused railway line from Robin Hood's Bay to Ravenscar is on the right of the picture. The site is in the care of the National Trust.
