This is the most modern part of the church, fronting onto Blurton Road. It was put up post WW2, I believe. This is the entrance now used to access the chapel.
SJ8943 : Bottle Oven, Heron Cross, Stoke on Trent It is stated that this is unusual in being incorporated in to the building. This was in fact normal but many surviving bottle ovens have lost the relatively less robust buildings from their bases. A good example of an oven in a building, complete with internal furniture, is to be seen at the Moorcroft Pottery, Cobridge.
