World War Two pillbox on Langley Hill, Gloucestershire
World War Two pillbox on Langley Hill, Gloucestershire
This proud lichen covered pillbox overlooks the route of the old A46 (the Cheltenham to Stratford-on-Avon road). Constructed in local Cotswold stone it was fortunately never required to face German panzers approaching over the limestone escarpment from the west. The photo looks eastwards towards Winchcombe.
