The Venue ... A new landmark for Stocksbridge and District
The Venue ... A new landmark for Stocksbridge and District
This building, aptly called 'The Venue', has replaced the Victory Club, and gives Stocksbridge, Deepcar, Bolsterstone and district a new venue for meetings, functions and shows. Part of the Victory Club is incorporated in the new building. The Victory Club was originally the Steel Works Canteen and was built on the land where Springfield Terrace stood. Springfield Terrace was built by Samuel Fox to house some of his workers back in the mid-1800's. There is some history in this site.
