The Black Path is a walkway and cycle route on the dismantled Waverley Railway Line, that runs from Tweedbank to Wheatlands Road in Galashiels, a short distance beyond the bridge in the centre of the photo. For a view along the bridge to the photographer position on the bridge at Plumtreehall Brae, see NT4837 : On the Black Path.
