SU4901 : Low tide off Calshot Spit

taken 9 years ago, near to Calshot, Hampshire, Great Britain

Low tide off Calshot Spit
Low tide off Calshot Spit
Looking back towards the spit from the gravel beds exposed by the low spring tide, shortly before sunset. The tall chimney in the distance towards the left is the stack at Fawley Power Station, and the plethora of smoking chimneys to the right of this are at the Fawley Oil Refinery. The buildings in the distance towards the right are those on the end of the spit, including the old flying boat hangar now reused as a velodrome and activity centre.
