Beamish Open Air Museum
Around the time of the first World War, the motor bus started to become a serious rival to the tram as a vehicle for local public transport, and they have this fine working example at Beamish. A word of warning here - if you do not have a strong stomach, do not ride this vehicle. It runs on solid tyres and is EXTREMELY bumpy - fun for the kids, but adults will do better on the tram, or even by walking!
