The Plain, East Oxford
The Plain, East Oxford
Once the site of St Clement's church and churchyard, demolished in 1830 leaving behind this triangular traffic arena. Three roads diverge eastwards here: St Clement's to the left leading towards Headington, to the right Iffley Road and in the middle Cowley Road. Where the drinking fountain stands was once a tollhouse.
