SK4151 : Brittain Pit

taken 26 years ago, near to Butterley, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Brittain Pit
Brittain Pit
Near the Midland Railway Centre complex and Brittain Pit Farm Museum. There are the remains of a steam winch (converted to motor drive) at the base of the head gear. The brick enclosure suggests an upcast shaft.
