The trackbed of the former Hull & Barnsley Railway
The trackbed of the former Hull & Barnsley Railway
The building of this part of the Hull and Barnsley Railway was a huge undertaking with some very deep cuttings. The railway was built in competition to the NER a few miles to the south of here which follows the much simpler and flat edge of the River Humber. The H&B was never really a huge success.
