Essendon Brook: West End Lane ford
Two years on (bar twenty days) from Martin's TL2608 : Dry Ford and the ford is as dry as before. This is a gravel bourne flowing north to the River Lee and can be expected to be dry in the summer, but worryingly this is the first week of March. The ground height here at the ford is 61 metres above sea level, and this is about 50 metres lower than the High Road in Essendon in the next grid square. So in about one kilometre the ground has gone nearly halfway to sea level.
