The "single" Spey cast
The "single" Spey cast
Spey casting as the name suggests originated on this famous river. There's the Single Spey and the Double Spey cast and these are executed in different ways depending on which river bank you are fishing from. Unlike the "overhead" cast the Spey cast can be practised even if there is a heavy tree cover behind the angler; that of course is why it was invented.
