The view indicator NO1490 : The Deeside Field Club's View Indicator on Morrone. is only about 10 minutes from the car park on the edge of the village of Braemar. The indicator marks a place with a magnificent view towards the Cairngorm hills and it identifies the main peaks. On the indicator plate there is a poem from George Stephen:
Upon this vantage ground I fain would stand
The prospect with delight my spirit fills
How often in glowing rapture have I scanned
The waving outline of the distant hills.
