TR2235 : Sea wall & cliff

taken 10 years ago, near to Folkestone, Kent, Great Britain

Sea wall & cliff
Sea wall & cliff
The cliff is well vegetated here and not in too much danger of collapse. Much of the coastal management along this part of the coast is designed to stop longshore drift carrying shingle further around the bay from west to east and blocking Folkestone harbour. There is a constant battle between humans and the elements along the bay from Dungeness to Folekstone and beyond. It doesn't come cheap to preserve parts of our coast.
