Axbridge church wells
Axbridge church wells
"It is rare to find a town's public wells complete and still in existence" says the notice, which also explains that the arches are late medieval, and the water source is "off the hill feeding into a large pond north-east of the square, which was the head of water for the water-mill, now gone, west of the church wells".
