NT1856 : Lochan, Monks Haugh

taken 13 years ago, near to Nine Mile Burn, Midlothian, Great Britain

Lochan, Monks Haugh.
Lochan, Monks Haugh.
Lochan on the far side of the Esk gorge, beneath the Pentland Hills. One of a line of pillars that run along the sharp escarpment of this small canyon like feature can be seen. They coincide with an aqueduct on the old map, so probably mark the route.
