SH7624 : Now redundant field wall in the Cerniau hills

Now redundant field wall in the Cerniau hills
Now redundant field wall in the Cerniau hills
Today, these fields are of little or no economic value. The old walls built in the early 19thC as part of the process of enclosing the moorland wastes are now redundant, as the emphasis today is on reinforcing the natural environment rather than on trying to convert it into grazing land. The walls as a result have been allowed to become ruined.
