NM8854 : The Loch Linnhe face of Druim na Maodalaich

taken 16 years ago, near to Kilmalieu, Highland, Scotland

The Loch Linnhe face of Druim na Maodalaich
The Loch Linnhe face of Druim na Maodalaich
Steep craggy slopes run down to the sea. This hillside has many gullies caused by erosion of basalt dykes from the Ardnamurchan volcanic activity. The basalt weathers faster than the surrounding granites.
The hill is home to feral goats.
