'Bellerophon' at Embsay
'Bellerophon' is one of the oldest working steam locomotives in the world. She was built in 1874 at the Haydock Foundry in Lancashire, and worked for the Haydock Colliery for many years on a variety of duties, including hauling miners' excursion trains to Blackpool. Passing to the NCB in 1948, she is seen here on a visit to Embsay. The locomotive is at present to be seen on the Foxfield Railway.
