Take-off from the Borders General Hospital
Take-off from the Borders General Hospital
This Scottish Ambulance Service Eurocopter, registration number G-SASA, with a patient onboard for transfer to another hospital, has just commenced take-off from the helicopter-landing pad in front of the main building. Helicopter landings at the hospital may be via Scottish Air Ambulance Services, Northumbria Air Ambulances and RAF Search and Rescue. A Lothians and Borders Fire Brigade tender is in the background as cover for any potential incident that may affect the hospital, patients or staff. All traffic is stopped (with the exception of police, fire and ambulance vehicles) at the entrance roads and main car park exits while a helicopter lands and takes off. Viewed from the flat roof of the main hospital building with car parks 1&5 in the background.
