NM8757 : Camp, Creach Bheinn

taken 10 years ago, 3 km from Kilmalieu, Highland, Great Britain

Camp, Creach Bheinn
Camp, Creach Bheinn
Site of a military encampment just north of the summit. It dates to the 19th century and is either a watch station from the Napoleonic Wars, a base for Colby's Ordnance Survey or both.
It must have been a tough place, walls have been erected at either side in an attempt to provide protection from the wind.
