SK4535 : Risley Hall Hotel

Risley Hall Hotel
The advertising jargon says that this is a "Georgian home built for the pleasures of good living" and has a history that goes back to the 11th century. The present Hall dates mainly from the early 18th century although the Baronial Hall was built in 1524. Standing in extensive formal gardens in rural surroundings, the buildings have now been restored to create a renowned Country House Hotel with exceptional facilities but I wonder how many of the guests realise that not so very long ago, Risley Hall was a remand home for young offenders.
