St. Mary's Church, Kempley
St. Mary's Church, Kempley
A lovely example of Norman architecture, this was once the parish church for Kempley. It is close to the brook and due to flooding, the village centre gradually moved south to higher ground and a new church was built. The interior is delightful with medieval frescoes and 'the oldest timber roof in Britain.' Today, the wild daffodils in the churchyard were at their best and the church was receiving many visitors, many of them on the 'Daffodil Walks.'
