TF8545 : Eroding dune

taken 10 years ago, near to Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk, Great Britain

Eroding dune
Eroding dune
Marram Grass roots exposed as the dune erodes. The roots extend down through the dunes, as the grass has to grow to keep up with accumulation of sand (while the dune is forming). It also improves access to water. The next photo in the transect is TF8545 : First dune ridge.
