NT4665 : Winter barley, Humbie Wood

taken 13 years ago, near to Gilchriston, East Lothian, Great Britain

Winter barley, Humbie Wood.
Winter barley, Humbie Wood.
Between the deep gutters carrying the Birns and Humbie waters there is a plateau, the usual Lothian landform. The flat land here is arable, a wedge of farmland between the two arms of the forest. The power lines originate at Torness, and have just crossed the Lammermuir Hills in the distance.
