Iffley rectory
Iffley rectory
Parts of this huge rambling building reach back to the C12/13; it was remodelled and extended in succeeding centuries. The Archdeacons of Oxford normally let the Rectory and its estate to a tenant instead of using it to house the parish clergy who could not afford to live in it, while prosperous tenants might help to keep it in repair. In 1979 it was divided into two parts, one remaining the rectory and the other becoming a one of the Landwmark Trust letting properties.
