Greenknowe Tower
Greenknowe Tower
This ruined tower house stands on a knoll, originally defended by marshy surroundings, about 500m west-southwest of Gordon Village. L-shaped on plan, it has a vaulted ground floor, corbelled angle turrets and crowstepped gables. It was built for the Setons of Touch in 1581 and their initials and Coat of Arms are carved on the lintel above the entrance doorway. The building is in the care of Historic Scotland.
