Elgar wrote much of his best music whilst living at Plas Gwyn, which is now converted to flats and known as Elgar Court. Plas Gwyn means 'White House' in Welsh. The house can be found at the junction of Hampton Park Road and Vineyard Road, east of Hereford city centre.
