Wind Hill, Countisbury
The Iron Age hillfort at Wind Hill is one of the possible locations for 'Arx Cynuit', the site of the invasion of Hubba the Dane in 878AD. 'Arx Cynuit' has been translated as Countisbury, but also as Kenwith Castle near Bideford SS4327. Hubba was defeated by Odda, Ealdorman of Devon.
