Stichill Parish Church
Stichill Parish Church
The present church is at least the second one on the site, and when it was built is uncertain, but it is thought to be about 1770. The stonework at the east end of the church, in the Pringle burial area, appears to be from an earlier date. There is a small ogee-capped birdcage bellcote on the west gable with a weather vane. The bell is embossed "Michael Bvrgerhvys me fecit soli deo gloria 1632", Michael Burgerhuys made me for the glory of God alone. The small churchyard has several symbolic stones.
