Part of St. John's Hospital
The hospital is made up of several buildings of various dates and these are the oldest. They were once part of the former Chelmsford Union Workhouse that was built during the Victorian era to give work and lodgings for the poor. They are no longer used by the hospital but are scheduled for conservation by English Heritage.
