View from Worts Hill, Slaithwaite
This is part of the panoramic view from the disused quarry on Worts Hill. The subject position is the fields in the foreground, just beyond the bridleway that is on the bottom edge of the picture along with a slurry tank. In the middle distance on the left, North Lane climbs up to Upper Holme at SE068140. Holme Lane climbs up the ridge (to the right) past Black Cop. Further away, the Colne Valley is hidden and we see the far hillside, which is in Lingards. Shooters Nab (SE065110) is in shade, but at the foot of it a horizontal blue line is Deer Hill Reservoir. The viewpoint is c.385m AOD and the reservoir is slightly lower at c.350m AOD. The Holme Moss TV mast can be seen (faintly) on the horizon.
