The Menaian Platform is an uplifted marine eroded platform. This wave cut platform, which is, geologically speaking, of fairly recent origin, cuts across rocks of vastly different age and hardness, ranging from Pre-Cambrian schists to Carboniferous Limestones, The Gyrn and Eifl hills can be seen in the background.
