The train is about 500 metres long, we know this because the engine has just passed the next bridge which is 500 metres away.
The load looks like limestone, about the right size for railway ballast. Whatley quarry near Mells and Merehead quarry a little further on are both limestone quarries with rail connection.
The Mendips are on the move.
