TQ4270 : Elmstead Woods railway station BR7
Bromley, Kent, Great Britain

Elmstead Woods railway station BR7
Looking north. The station was built in 1902. Just past it, the two twin tracks disappear into tunnels beneath Elmstead Woods. The tunnels are unnecessary from an engineering viewpoint and exist because the Scotts of Sundridge Park would not allow access to their land during construction. In places the tunnels are barely below ground.
