This locally listed building was built as an Odeon cinema, opening on 23 May 1938. It was designed by Andrew Mather, who was the architect for many Odeon cinemas of that period. It closed on 18 October 1975. It reopened as a nightclub in 1976, named "Busby's", later becoming "Millionaires" in the 1980s, 'The British Embassy' in 1996, before its present title in 2002. See LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) for a photo in its Odeon days.

Postscript: "Liquid & Envy" closed in 2011, and after a residential development which was to retain the façade, folded following financial difficulties, the site has now been cleared, in readiness for a 133 apartment block. See TQ2850 : Former "Liquid & Envy" site for a photo of the cleared site.
