TM0308 : St. Peter on the Wall

3 km from Bradwell on Sea, Essex, Great Britain

St. Peter on the Wall
St. Peter on the Wall
This chapel was built in 654AD by St Cedd. The stones are actually taken from a 3rd century roman camp which stood on this site. A small building has been constructed near the chapel with seating area for walkers and pilgrims. A bird hide can be seen between the two buildings - the nearby marshes are rich with bird life.
