Geograph - photograph every grid square

My dad was in Yeovil during the war as a School boy. He lived in Coronation Avenue at number 45. The Americans were stationed at Houndstone and Lufton camps. He remembers the American loading supplies into the stores located in the empty shops in Coronation Avenue, they were built before the war but did not operate as retail units until around 1944/45. As the troops were throwing tins of food to each other now and again they would chuck something to the local kids who were hanging around hoping to catch some good food stuff. Also my father parents had a friend from London staying with them, Sally, she worked at the canteen in the Army camp. My mum worked for the CO--OP in the office in the Triangle from 1944. She remembers seeing the Yanks outside the Coronation Hotel, and they use to like the Doughnuts from Chubbs Bakery next to the George Hotel where Primark is now. They also enjoyed the fish and chips.
