Church of St Mary, Halton Village
The Church of St Mary stands next to Halton Castle on the rocky promontory overlooking the River Mersey and visible for miles around. It was built in 1851 replacing the existing chapel, to a design of Giles Gilbert Scott, of Liverpool Anglican Cathedral (and red telephone box) fame.
