Bridge 137, Halls Lock
A supplementary image to the Halls Lock photograph, taken from the concrete pier at the base of bridge 137 on the Trent & Mersey canal. The steps leading up from the pier to the top of the lock are well worn and bear testimony to the legions of bargees who must have trudged up and down them as they climbed or descended 'Heartbreak Hill'.
