Semerwater
Semerwater
One of only 3 natural sheets of water in Yorkshire, a glacial lake which was painted by Turner, visited by Wainwright, who described it as a 'flooded field'. It has legends attached to it, one of which tells of a flooded city beneath its waters (thanks to Mark Reid, Inn Way to Yorks Dales 1997. It's on the route)
