3 km from Elan Village, Powys, Great Britain

Pen-y-Gareg dam
Although there are actually four dams in the valley of the Elan River, Pen-y-Garreg is often regarded as the 'middle dam' in the series. The elegant stone tower houses a system of valves and cylinders. It was built in a style which, like many of the other structures of the waterworks scheme, has become known as 'Birmingham Baroque'.
