Named after a local character who is reputed to have lived to the ripe old age of 169! Henry Jenkins died on the 6th December 1670 and is buried at St Mary's, Bolton on Swale near Catterick. His longevity can be partly attributed to regular intake of nettle soup and swims in the River Swale.
