Thomas Page's cast iron Gothic bridge over the River Ouse. The foundation stone was laid by the Right Honourable William Davey, Lord Mayor of York on 12th June 1878. It was opened to foot passengers on 1st January 1881 and formally opened to general traffic by the Right Honourable John Stephenson Rowntree, Lord Mayor on 10th March 1881.
