Clavell Tower re-positioned and renovated
Clavell Tower re-positioned and renovated
The circular feature in the foreground marks the original location of the Clavell Tower; it stood on this spot from its construction in 1830 until renovation works started in 2006. The dilapidated tower was carefully dismantled and rebuilt 25 metres further inland, to avoid its imminent collapse as the cliff erodes away. The interior is currently being fitted out to make it suitable for holiday letting by the Landmark Trust.
