SX0453 : Mine Chimney at Wheal Eliza Consols

taken 18 years ago, near to Charlestown, Cornwall, England

Mine Chimney at Wheal Eliza Consols
Mine Chimney at Wheal Eliza Consols
This mine chimney is almost lost among the trees. It demonstrates that there used to be more than just china clay workings in the St Austell area. Wheal Eliza Consols was mining for tin and copper. The area of woodland which contains the old buildings is fenced off with razor wire.
